Solution Presented

The maintenance team implemented the Power Team PR3100J railroad bearing puller to replace the manual removal method. The hydraulic puller applied controlled force to safely extract wheel truck bearings with minimal operator effort.

Results

The hydraulic bearing puller reduced the effective bearing removal time to approximately ten minutes per bearing. The improved process can now be performed by a single operator, increasing productivity while improving overall safety.

By switching from manual methods to a hydraulic railroad bearing puller, bearing removal time was reduced from over one hour to approximately ten minutes per bearing.
