Foundation Repair Using Power Team’s Compact Hydraulic Cylinders

Overview

Residential foundation repair requires controlled lifting to correct settlement without introducing additional structural stress. In this application, a compact hydraulic lifting system was used to raise a settled foundation back to its original position with high precision, while operating safely in confined crawl space and basement environments.

The Challenge

A homeowner observed signs of foundation settlement, including visible structural issues that required urgent professional repair. The repair process required lifting the foundation back to its original position while overcoming heavy structural loads and soil resistance. Tight crawl space and basement access added complexity, requiring compact equipment that could be safely operated in a residential environment.

Foundation lifting in residential structures must be performed gradually and accurately to avoid cracking or additional damage. Limited access, low overhead clearance, and the need for precise control made conventional lifting methods impractical for this application.

Solution Presented

The foundation repair team deployed a Power Team PE553 electric hydraulic pump paired with a Power Team C256C single-acting hydraulic cylinder. The PE553 provided precise hydraulic control while operating from a standard 110VAC power source, allowing flexible positioning in limited-access areas. The compact C256C cylinder delivered up to 25 tons of controlled lifting force, enabling accurate elevation adjustments within the confined residential space.

Results

The hydraulic lifting system allowed the foundation to be raised gradually and accurately back to its original position. Controlled lifting minimized structural stress, and the compact equipment enabled safe operation in tight spaces. The foundation was restored efficiently without compromising safety or structural integrity.

The use of a compact hydraulic lifting system enabled controlled foundation elevation with up to 25 tons of lifting force while maintaining precise movement control. Electric pump operation from standard 110VAC power eliminated the need for additional power infrastructure, supporting efficient setup and safe execution in residential environments. Accurate, incremental lifting helped reduce the risk of secondary cracking or misalignment during foundation repair.
