Overview

A bridge construction project in a remote region required a compact hydraulic system capable of launching a steel bridge without cranes, large transport equipment, or access to electrical power. Power Team technology provided a mobile, off-grid solution for controlled bridge movement.

The Challenge

An international contractor was developing a scalable bridge-launching method for infrastructure projects in resource-constrained locations. The system needed to operate without cranes or electrical power, remain portable, support high-force movement, and be practical for local teams to install and maintain.

Solution Presented

Power Team engineered a hydraulic system using six RD10013 cylinders, one PG554 gas-powered pump, one 9575 valve, one 9691 Y-manifold, and a complete fittings and gauge package. Four cylinders controlled descent near the bridge gap, while two rear-mounted cylinders supplied the forward launching force.

Results

The steel bridge was launched successfully using hydraulic power alone. The solution reduced logistics costs and setup requirements, supported rapid infrastructure deployment, and created a repeatable bridge-launching approach for other remote projects.

Other Applications

• Remote bridge construction
• Off-grid infrastructure projects
